Travel to the Isle of Skye over the Skye bridge now toll free and continue north on the A87 toward Portree. Turn left at Sligachan junction (1)
onto the A863 towards Dunvegan. On the outskirts of Dunvegan turn left (2) onto the B884 (single track road) towards Glendale. Pass through
Glendale and follow signs for Neist Point Lighthouse. Do not take the road to Ramasaig. After Ramasaig junction (3) continue for just under
1 mile until the road junction(4) marked Neist Point Lighthouse. Turn left up the hill. At the top of the hill take the first right (5) into Lower
Milovaig. Puffin Cottage is on the left approx 1 mile form this road junction.
Many books have been written about Skye covering flora , fauna and the geology of the area and a small selection are available in Puffin Cottage for your use whilst there. The Ordinance Survey landranger map and the more detailed Explorer 407 ( 1:25000 scale 2.5 inches to the mile) are invaluable for walking the area. The walks to Neist Point and the Coral Beaches featured on the web site are covered by Explorer 407. The pathfinder guide is one of many books with detailed walks covering all areas of Skye including The Cullins that lie almost at the centre of the island forming what has been described as the most exciting skyline in Britain.
